Funny enough, it can be confirmed there was a microphone when recording the waitresses. Mainly because in one of the videos, a boom mic can be seen popping in from the top of the frame.
Ha! Nice catch. :D
How many hours, in total, did you spend playing the game?
The first run was 3 to 4 hours, because of how many times I had to continue on that blasted 2nd stage and then some shenanigans on the oil rig. The game is really only about an hour long, but if you can't get a grip on what the game counts as "seen and not seen" as well as "punch versus secret knock out press" it's a grind. For the GRTV B-Roll, I legit replayed up until I could get the laser room on film. After that, I turned on the cheats to be not seen and not heard and just mimed playing normally to get the footage. If i hadn't, I'd have probably just snapped the disc.
@@GameRaveTV It seems like Rogue Ops for the Gamecube
@@thewowcollector Never played, I'll have to look it up on YT.
This game had been sitting on the shelf of my local game store for over a year, and I was always intrigued by it. Seeing this upload (without having watched it yet) finally made me buy it for $4. Now that I have watched it, I'm glad I bought it. Haha. Keep up the great work Jason!!
Ha, thanks! It's a tale you tell your grand kids over a camp fire at night with a flashlight under your face to make it all the more scary.
Martian Gothic Unification >chuckes< “I’m in danger!” Give it time Largo might have a buddy.
Oh no.
@@GameRaveTV if I remember rightly there’s a bunch of soft locks, and one hard lock which breaks half way through the game when you have to use two of the players at once. Enjoy!
@@pixelated.dreams I'll...play that one later....XD
@@GameRaveTV Haha....Oh and theres also a Timer at the end of the game which if you let the cut scene play out will keep counting down, thus forcing you to lose seconds before the credits roll XD i learnt that the hard way.
@@pixelated.dreams You're selling this like I would when I still worked for GameStop. XD
PS1 era Rebellion really didn´t have a good track record. I mean, I can enjoy their Rainbow Six adaptation for what it is, but it isn´t exactly a great game. And the other 3 games they released the same year as Largo Winch don´t have a great reputation either (those are Rainbow Six Lone Wolf and Delta Force Urban Warfare on PS1 and Medal of Honor Underground on GBA in case you are wondering). Guess they where cooking too many meals at the same time while not having the manpower to pull it off.
Sounds like they were hoping to make the quick buck off day 1 buys and conversions and hope any royalties carried them.
core memory unlocked of a review I'd seen somewhere I want to say next generation?! pretty sure it was a one-star dud if I remember right. (given what I'm hearing in this review I'm almost certain, wow.)
I tried hard to give a little help, but every corner it just kept betraying me. One of the observations that didn't make the script was that some of the best texture work is either out of view (heads on the pillars in the SAR HQ), or on items that didn't need it, like the telephones in the airport.
I always have incredible unfond memories of this game when I played it in 2013, back when there were barely any videos of the game, let alone a full walkthrough of it. A friend of mine at the time whose name was TTBurger88 absolutely HATED the game with a passion so much, he called it the worst game he had ever played (which we both can always agree on his assessment), until he played Spawn: The Eternal when I told him about it. He has a review of the game on his channel that you can check out, but beware his very ear-rapey attitude he pulls off during his review! And certainly, like you and even my aforementioned friend, even I myself don't want to ever go back to this game again anytime soon. I did a full video walkthrough on my channel at the time and even helped TTBurger88 beat the game himself by showing him the walkthrough that I did. Although prior of playing the game, the name itself and coverart gave me some serious vibes of the Koei-produced stealth game Operation Winback. P.S.: Believe it or not: There is another game that UbiSoft made with the Largo Winch license, and was actually produced in-house, rather than by a third-party studio like Rebellion. It was called Largo Winch: Empire Under Threat, except that game, unlike the PS1 entry, never got a North American release, and thus remained a PAL exclusive, even on the PC. It is a point-n-click adventure game, rather than a frustrating stealth-fest that the PS1 game was. But even that game was very poor in a number of ways, even bringing in the same unknown to reprise his voice role for Largo. Both games truly showed how absolutely WASTED the Largo Winch license was for UbiSoft, that there was never another game in the same franchise ever again after these two, which isn't surprising, given the incredible obscurity and unknown status of the original comic and TV show that none of us, even Europeans like me, ever knew they existed.
This game has to be pretty uncommon as I cannot find much info on it, especially units for sale, even on eBay. That said I just found a copy for sale at a local retro shop. I had never knew it existed.
It was super popular in it's original time frame due to how much Full Motion Video was in it. It was a bit more popular on the 3DO and PC. It sold enough to spawn sequels. By now, it's more just a 'meme' type game.
I still play this game from time to time, it is still running good asside from the chugging cutscenes. what i really like is the music, it fits well to the dark atmosphere. and what ive learned is that the slime caverns beat is used in other games. aaand last but not least nice Review👍
Thanks! And I didn't know about the music, nice trivia!
Im having problems with xenogears in my polymega. I cannot find any compatibility list right now. To me this game has emulation issues.
Have you tried sideloading the real BIOS?
@@GameRaveTV Its funny because i own the original game and when its installing and marks 97% eject the disk. Yesterday I tried with and BIN/CUE that I burned on Verbatim cd-r disk and it works without a problem. I used a sony espressa 4x to burned.
@@darkzealotjg It happens. I had to use several CDRs for games I had that were all perfect surface layer wise. Just cuze we can't see it, doesn't mean there's no imperfection in a disc. I think several OPM discs I threw at it all did the 97% FU thing. ^_^;;

I’m so glad I watched this. I’m currently trying to figure out what my n64 and like 10 games or so is worth such as super Mario 64, Mario party 3, golden eye, super smash bros, yoshi story, banjo tooie, and banjo kazooie, and one or two others. It’s a great game - and my wife’s favorite.
Man, what insanity lol. It's like that meme of that guy with the picture board and the lines connecting haphazardly all over the place. While going through all of that I could just picture you saying "the things I do for PlayStation" in a Courage the Cowardly Dog voice lol. Hopefully you get it all figured out some time.
Outside of the kazoo/shootout situation, most of it has been sorted finally. Updated the game’s page with all of it. And I know this is one of the easier ones to go through. 😅
@@GameRaveTV Ah well that's good you got most of it figured out! Here's to getting the rest done.
Omg this video is like a rollercoaster XD This makes me wonder if the credits are in the PAL version. Im gonna have to hunt down and have a look i think.
Knowing Acclaim, I doubt it! XD
I presume the credits might be on the console versions but on the attract mode; I imagine it might pop up after a certain amount of demo loops, cuz it usually tends to be like that with some of these games (maybe it was like that in the arcade one too) I think there is a full playthrough of the Saturn one on YT, I need to check.
@@M4R14NO94 I found them on the disc in the files and managed to pull them from the code.
@@M4R14NO94 A friend was able to use a hex editor to track them down, but it looks like it's just the arcade credits moved over. We were able to re-sort the codes as best we could, especially knowing that some won't have initials and others were swapped. It's more just for mobygames now than anything else.
.... wow. holy hell that sounds like a real mess! hoping there's a lot of folks out there willing to be 'code historians' in figuring all this stuff out. only suggestion on the missing codes is probably something you've already tried like holding a button combination? I know on like SNES NBA JAM I believe you had to like hold the shoulder buttons while inputting the letters? beyond that it's anyone's guess.
Yep - All Name Entry codes require the L1 + R1 to be held. Concerning the "word/backspace" codes, it works for anything season related - so "Start at play offs, start at finals, etc" all work. It's the 'fun' stuff that isn't working. What just blew my mind is that in looking over the video, SHOOTOUT isn't listed with KAZOO....*sighs*,
hey the ps1 version didn't have a horn or that sound
It literally does. The horns are the "accept" sound, the noise made moving between options in the main selection screen, and the boing sound is at the menu after choosing 1 Player. This is the USA version. It's even in the PC release: ua-cam.com/video/7cT_eGCSMNg/v-deo.html (Link at the time of the menu.
I have an interesting piece from Army Men Air Attack, it's an alarm clock branded Army Men Air Attack, logo and all. I know it works I just never keep batteries in it to avoid any corrosion.
Well that's pretty cool. And timely!
Playstation should have made all of their new consoles backwards compatible like xbox. Very very greedy Sony
It's not really greedy - it's profit versus cost. If BC was truly profitable Sony would have never removed it from the PlayStation 3. It also doesn't help that systems aren't consistent in their architecture. Too much work to make it all function on one box, especially when your profit margin would be eaten up by used sales and not new classic games. Xbox's BC is admirable, but fallible enough to not be jealous of.
Wouldve been nice to know the moves. Didnt even know this existed when i was playing as a kid. Always picked razor or yoko.
just got this game again today after over 15 years, swear I wasn't this bad as a kid but even easy mode is frying me alivee lmao
Are you playing on real hardware on a CRT, or on something else on a flat screen? Modern TVs would introduce a ton of lag to the input.
I'm watching this just because there's an RPG I have vague memories of but can't find. Hoping I find it! (pretty sure it was for the Saturn...)
I have a full US Set for PSX and Saturn, hit me up with your description and I can help pin point it. =)

Good review. I remember seeing the Animorphs books but didn't read too many of them at the time. A shame about the technical problems. I swear that's two of my biggest pet peeves in games, bad controls and a bad camera. I don't mind controls that are a bit janky or a little unconventional, but when they straight up make the game tougher to play for no good reason is when it gets annoying. Also in some levels the draw distance seems pretty bad. Like at 4:12
Well said. : )
I haven't read an Animorphs book in 25 years, as I started reading all the Star Wars novels fue to the Episode 1 hype (also 25 years), but just want to correct you Jason, the kids befriended Elfangor in the first Book, and Ax showed up later in the series as Elfangor's brother. Visser Three was the front and center main baddie, but Visser One was the top of the food chain of the Yeerks, and was Marco's Mother. I stopped reading after Book #39, and Tobias and Rachel were my favorite characters, so when I found out years later Rachel died, I was PISSED!!!! Oh and, just bought my cooy brand new shrinkwrapped for $25. You had me at "SingleTrac".
Ah. I was just going off what was referenced.
the gamboy color game was a weird pokemon clone
Oh really? That’s bizarre. I did sneak a peak at the PC game and it was completely different, almost like an open world.
@@GameRaveTV Yeah. It was odd. Not bad, but definitelt worth a look/playthrough just for how bizarre it is never knew there was a PC version
I rember one time to have read a thread on Animorphs story arcs, and the damn therare some dark and fucked up things in it
Seriously! Especially Rachel!
@@GameRaveTVOther than Rachel dying, what am I missing? Again, I stopped reading after Book #39.
@@RolfWrenWalsh I never read any of them, I was just going of wikis and fan pages to understand everything, which wasn't needed. Rachel's death was implied to have been Jake's decision. This apparently causes Tobias to to stay as a hawk and not deal with reality, among other things.
Tobias is actually in the game, who do you think is holding the camera the whole time?
O _ O
I actually have this when it came with the game and the strategy guide when I bought it on eBay
Your column states the Saturn was dead during this era… the corresponding Saturn ports were far superior. Especially X-men vs streetfighter. Saturn was anything but dead.
Saturn was dead in the USA. I was in gaming retail during that time and the USA Saturn scene was deader than dead. I picked up mine new for $50 at the time - and that was with the 3 Free pack in games. The Japanese side did survive a bit longer, and I 210% agree with the ports being better. But the article is written from the USA side concerning Fighters Edge.
Ive always had a love for Turbografix 16 i got my first one Christmas 1992 for 20.00 at Toys r us at the end of its life i couldnt believe it i always wanted one no one around me had one 😅😅
It's like the ultimate "sleeper hit" game system.
Just to make sure, you might want to check your Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate Downloads again.. It looked like you missed a few like DLC - 07 59 MB, DLC - 13 84 MB, and DLC - 19 47 MB.. You might have already made the correction or perhaps there was a reason you decided not to download those specific ones.. Just thought I'd let you know just in case. Also wanted to say I really enjoy your content.
Thanks for the heads up! Some of the numbers aren't listed on XBox Live, but the game boots fine. I wondered if they combined some of them (like 7 is part of 6 or 8). Next time I boot up the console I'll do once last check. =) And thank you for the compliment - great to have you here! :D
This was an awesome series in its day. No large arcade was without the first Lethal Enforcers. When gunfighters came out for the genesis me and my bro rented it and beat it first night. You really needed the 2nd guy to shoot the objects (that was my job) if u were using the controllers. PS Nov 93 was also when the very first UFC was held, now they're at 300+
